Situated on the eastern coast of the island, it is the natural harbour for boats arriving from the “continent”. Established in Roman times, today Giglio Porto is a small town featuring the ancient Saracen Tower (1596), colourful cottages and narrow alleyways looking out over the coast, where numerous tourists fill the bars, shops and restaurants that are all open till late. Here you can find the main services, banks, post office, chemists, car or boat hire and a doctors. From Giglio Porto you can easily get to the splendid beaches of Cannelle, Caldane and Arenella, even on foot.
